Barbara Borczak is a senior manager in WBL’s Tax Planning and Compliance department. She has more than 20 years’ experience serving as a trusted advisor for middle-market closely-held businesses and business owners, particularly those working in the commercial real estate industry. Her deep appreciation for the intricacies and opportunities that exist in the U.S. tax code make her a valuable partner for her clients. She is proficient in the income tax reporting requirements for individuals, trusts, and flow-through business entities. By developing an understanding of her clients’ personal and business goals, she’s able to deliver meaningful accounting and financial reporting feedback along with value-add tax planning strategies.
Barbara assists clients with business organization and growth issues as well as planning and implementing tax-advantaged transactions. She is experienced with business mergers and acquisitions, compensatory executive issues, accounting for complex partnership allocation calculations related to IRC Section 754 and 704(c), inbound/outbound foreign investments, and structuring opportunistic investment transactions.
Before joining WBL, she was a partner at a large regional CPA firm headquartered in Atlanta.
